These Are Not Negotiable

These Are Not Negotiable
By Chuck Baldwin

In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies.”

I would argue that we, like our patriot forebears, have also endured “patient sufferance.” For at least a half-century, we have patiently endured the erosion and abridgment of our freedoms and liberties. We have watched the federal government become an overbearing and meddlesome Nanny State that pokes its nose and sticks its fingers in virtually everything we do. We cannot drive a car, buy a gun, or even flush a toilet without Big Brother’s permission. We are taxed, regulated, and snooped-on from the time we are born to the day we die. And then after we are dead, we are taxed again.

In the same way that Jefferson and Company patiently suffered up until that shot was fired that was heard around the world, we who love freedom today are likewise patiently suffering “a long train of abuses and usurpations.” In fact, I would even dare say that these States United have become a boiling caldron of justifiable frustration and even anger.

Accordingly, it is incumbent upon us to very seriously and thoughtfully examine those principles that we absolutely will never cede or surrender. We have already surrendered much of the freedom that was bequeathed to us by our forefathers. We are now to the point that we must define those principles that form our “line in the sand” and that we will not surrender under any circumstance. Either that, or we must admit to ourselves that there is nothing—no principle, no freedom, no matter how sacred—that we will not surrender to Big Government.

Here, then, are those principles that, to me, must never be surrendered. To surrender these liberties to Big Government would mean to commit idolatry. It would be sacrilege. It would reduce us to slavery. It would destroy our humanity. To surrender these freedoms would mean “absolute Despotism” and would provide moral justification to the proposition that such tyranny be “thrown off.”

*The Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Men without guns are not free men; they are slaves. Men without guns are not citizens; they are subjects. Men without guns have lost the right of self-defense. They have lost the power to defend their families and protect their properties. Men without guns are reduced to the animal kingdom, becoming prey to the Machiavellians among them who would kill them for sport or for their own personal pursuits. As King Jesus plainly ordered, “He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” (Luke 22:36) This we will do—at all costs.

*The Right to Own Private Property

Like the right of self-defense, the private ownership of property is a God-given right that is rooted in the Sacred Text. As God told Moses, “Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour’s landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.” (Deut. 19:14)

In fact, the history of Western Civilization is replete with the examples of free men who were determined (even at the cost of their very lives) to defend the right to own property. Without private property rights, men are reduced to serfs and servants. Like chattel, they feed themselves by another’s leave. This we will not do.

*The Right to Train and Educate Our Children

Education has never been the responsibility of the State. From time immemorial, education has been the right and responsibility of the family. This, too, has its foundation in the Sacred Volume. “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Eph. 6:4)

Therefore, the absolute right of homeshooling or private/parochial/Christian schooling must never be surrendered. Homeschooling, especially, is fundamental to freedom. It is not a coincidence that throughout history, most totalitarian governments forbade parents homeschooling their children. Any government—federal, State, or local—that forbids, or even restricts, the right of parents to homeschool their children has taken upon itself the uniform of a tyrant.

*The Freedom of Speech and Worship

Speech and worship are matters of the heart and conscience (Luke 6:45; John 4:24). Only tyrants seek authority over matters of the heart. But, of course, that is what tyrants do: they seek to control men’s thoughts and beliefs.

Hence, the alternative media is essential to liberty: the Internet, short wave radio, as well as independent magazines and periodicals. It is almost superfluous to say that there is no such thing as a free and independent press among the mainstream news media today. In fact, the major media more resembles a propaganda machine than it does a free press.

The same can be said for most of the mainstream churches in America today. They more resemble havens for politically correct, Big-Government ideology than they do bastions of Bible truth. Therefore, home-churches and non-establishment churches are increasingly requisite to a free people.

*The Right to Determine One’s Own Healthcare

The marriage of Big Government and Big Medicine has created a healthcare monster. Already, the dispensing of medical treatment is micromanaged by Big Brother in a way that has resulted in skyrocketing costs and inferior care (and in some cases, even death). President Obama’s universal health care initiatives that are sure to come (in one form or another) will only exacerbate an already untenable situation.

Free men and women absolutely have the right to refuse vaccinations for themselves and their children. Forced vaccinations (of any kind) are an assault against the very foundation of freedom. Free men have the right to choose their own physicians, their own hospitals, their own insurance programs, etc. They also have the right to refuse any and all of the above.

God is Creator. He is also Healer (Exodus 15:26). Therefore, how men choose to seek God’s healing is a private matter between them and God. Alternative medicine is a right. Already, our military personnel are used as human guinea pigs to test a variety of drugs and chemicals. Public schools also require forced vaccinations. And now the push is on to force the general population to take the Swine Flu vaccine. At the current pace, it won’t be long until all alternative medicines and treatments will be illegal and the federal government will be America’s doctor. This is not acceptable.

*The Right to Life

2000 years of Western Civilization have perpetually reconfirmed that life is a gift of God. Both Biblical and American history repeatedly honor God as the Source and Sustainer of man’s existence. Therefore, evils such as abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia must be vehemently resisted. It is bad enough that any government (especially one such as ours) would legalize abortion, but the concept of FORCED abortion, infanticide, or euthanasia could only be regarded as a despotic attack on life and liberty of the gravest proportion. In fact, under Natural Law, such an attack would remove said government from the protection of Heaven and would place it in a state of war.

*The Right to Live as a Free and Independent People

God separated the Nations (Genesis 11). Therefore, it is absolutely necessary that we Americans maintain our independence and national sovereignty. We simply cannot (and will not) allow ourselves to become part of any hemispheric or global union.

There they are: seven freedom-principles that are not negotiable. As Jefferson said, we are “disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable.” But cross these lines and free men must do what free men must do: “throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate

Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.

The allegations that horrified fellow Republicans and caused his once-promising candidacy to implode in four short days have given Obama a clear lead as Republicans struggled to fetch an alternative.

Ryan’s campaign began to crumble on Monday following the release of embarrassing records from his divorce. In the records, his ex-wife, Boston Public actress Jeri Ryan, said her former husband took her to kinky sex clubs in Paris, New York and New Orleans.

Barrack Obama

"It’s clear to me that a vigorous debate on the issues most likely could not take place if I remain in the race," Ryan, 44, said in a statement. "What would take place, rather, is a brutal, scorched-earth campaign – the kind of campaign that has turned off so many voters, the kind of politics I refuse to play."

Although Ryan disputed the allegations, saying he and his wife went to one ‘avant-garde’ club in Paris and left because they felt uncomfortable, lashed out at the media and said it was "truly outrageous" that the Chicago Tribune got a judge to unseal the records.

The Republican choice will become an instant underdog in the campaign for the seat of retiring Republican Senator Peter Fitzgerald, since Obama held a wide lead even before the scandal broke.

"I feel for him actually," Obama told a Chicago TV station. "What he’s gone through over the last three days I think is something you wouldn’t wish on anybody."

The Republican state committee must now choose a replacement for Ryan, who had won in the primaries against seven contenders. Its task is complicated by the fact that Obama holds a comfortable lead in the polls and is widely regarded as a rising Democratic star.

The chairwoman of the Illinois Republican Party, Judy Topinka, said at a news conference, after Ryan withdrew, that Republicans would probably take several weeks to settle on a new candidate.

"Obviously, this is a bad week for our party and our state," she said.

As recently as Thursday, spokesmen for the Ryan campaign still insisted that Ryan would remain in the race. Ryan had defended himself saying, "There’s no breaking of any laws. There’s no breaking of any marriage laws. There’s no breaking of the Ten Commandments anywhere."

The Ominous “Success” of Re-Education

The Ominous “Success” of Re-Education

By Berit Kjos

October 5, 2009

http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/009/3-family.htm

“The purpose of education and the schools is to change the thoughts, feelings and actions of students.”[1]

As the home and church decline in influence... schools must begin to provide adequately for the emotional and moral development of children. ...The school... must assume a direct responsibility for the attitudes and values of child development. The child advocate, psychologist, social technician, and medical technician should all reach aggressively into the community, send workers out to children’s homes....”[2]Joint Commission on Mental Health of Children

“A proposal for new social studies curriculum in Texas public schools removes a mention of Christmas in a sixth-grade lesson, replacing it with a Hindu religious festival....”[3] Houston Chronicle

“...the breakdown of traditional families, far from being a ‘crisis,’ is actually a. ... triumph for human rights against ‘patriarchy.’[4] UN Population Fund leader

The traditional Christian family has been a continual obstacle to the globalist vision of solidarity. And for over sixty years, the United Nations and its mental health gurus have fought hard to eradicate those old “poisonous certainties” that stood in their way. They seem to be gaining ground!

Since Hitler outlawed homeschooling about 70 years ago, German parents have faced the harshest battles. Now other nations are catching up. Notice the government attitudes in the following examples:

“A critical hearing is scheduled in Germany in that nation’s war against homeschoolers to determine whether a family can continue to control the education of its high-performing son, 14.... ‘One of the fundamental rights of parents is the right to educate their children according to the dictates of their own religious beliefs.’”[5]

That “fundamental right” is fast being replaced by government-defined “community” or “collective rights.” The fact that those homeschooled children have “extraordinary academic abilities” and are “socially competent” doesn’t matter. Today’s rising global system doesn’t want “competent” Christian leaders. Not in Sweden, not in America—not anywhere!

“A North Carolina judge has ordered three children to attend public schools this fall because the homeschooling their mother has provided over the last four years needs to be ‘challenged.’ The children, however, have tested above their grade levels – by as much as two years.... The judge... explained his goal ...to make sure they have a ‘more well-rounded education.’ ...the judge also said public school would ‘prepare these kids for the real world and college’ and allow them ‘socialization.’”[6]

Such socialization tactics “worked well” in the Soviet Union. Based on the Marxist/Hegelian dialectic process, they include collective thinking, manipulative peer pressure, denial of absolutes, shameless “tolerance” for immorality, and irrational intolerance for contrary views.

The results can be disastrous. Students trained to scorn God’s guidelines and conform to the crowd are anything but free. Most are soon driven by evolving new notions that undermine all truth and certainty. Loosed from moral constraints, many are bound by their own lusts, obsessions, and (ultimately) despair.

A Model School for Future Leaders

Bill Clinton’s “Governor’s School”—one of many across America during the eighties—demonstrates the tragic results. For six weeks each summer, it isolated selected Arkansas high school students from the outside world and immersed them in liberal ideology, sensual literature, group dialogue, and mystical thrills—both real and imagined.[7]

“Students do me a favor,” urged author Ellen Gilchrist, a guest speaker at the school. “Totally ignore your parents. Listen to them, but then forget them. Because you need to start using your own stuff, your real stuff that you have.”[8]

Her aim was to free students from “obsolete” family values, not promote personal independence. They must reject the old ways and become “open-minded”—ready to accept the unthinkable practices that would bombard their minds. (See Paradigm Shift)

By the time they left the Governor’s School, their utopian dreams seemed more real than the actual world. Like the planned results of Soviet brainwashing, they had been weaned from truth, facts and reality. With seared consciences, new ideals, and volatile emotions, they would now face the old world they had left behind only six weeks earlier.

The Marxist change agents behind this transformation are too numerous to list, but behavioral psychologist Kurt Lewin gives us a simple formula. Linked to infamous psychological research institutes in London (Tavistock) and Germany (Frankfurt Institute), Lewin moved to America when Hitler began his reign. His influence spread through MIT and other universities, then paved the way for “sensitivity training” and the formation of National Training Laboratories that would prepare transformational tactics and textbooks for public schools.

Lewin outlined his program with a 3-step formula:

Ø UNFREEZING minds: Questioning the old ways through facilitated dialogue, peer pressure, and group “experience”—real or imagined.

Ø MOVING the students to the new level: Using cognitive dissonance (mental, moral and emotional confusion), peer pressure, and manipulated consensus to loyalties from the old ways and to the new.

Ø FREEZING group minds on the new level: The new views become the norm. They feel good! The old views become offensive as well as wrong![9]

For the students, the transition back to reality—to home, family and normal life—was painful. For some it was lethal. “When I came back home, I sort of wrote a suicide note to myself,” confessed LeAndrew Crawford. “Not actually wanting to kill myself, but wanting to kill the reality of what society had been teaching me for so long.... I was totally down, because my family just didn’t feel like my family.... I didn’t want to be back.”[7]

Brandon Hawk did kill himself within a year. Hearing about his death, other concerned parents contacted Brandon’s parents.

“They see the same thing in their kids that we saw in Brandon,” the father explained.... They just sort of walk off and leave the family.”[7]

But Brandon wasn’t the only one who chose death rather than life. After the third suicide, the Joint Interim Education Committee of the Arkansas legislature held hearings that exposed some of the problems. Perhaps the most revealing testimony came from Brandon’s mother, who read from her son’s log. In his first entry, he wrote,

“‘Moms are the best people around, and my mom is the best mom on earth.’ But three weeks later, he wrote: ‘My mom is so closed minded I feel like we will have a standoff soon over issues.’ And his final entry stated: ‘After I came back from the [three-day, July 4] break, my friends and I could tell that we had suddenly been transformed into free thinkers.’”[7]

Another mother testified that, “My son came back from Governor’s School and his favorite line was ‘There are no absolutes; there are no absolutes.”[7]

It didn’t take long to change the students’ minds and hearts, did it? Yet few teachers or parents are aware of this subversive agenda.

Back in 1982, Professor Benjamin Bloom, an internationally known behaviorist, defined “good teaching” as “challenging the students’ fixed beliefs and getting them to discuss issues.”[10] (Sounds like Kurt Lewin, doesn’t it?) He added,

“The evidence collected thus far suggests that a single hour of classroom activity under certain conditions may bring about a major reorganization in cognitive as well as affective (attitudes, values and beliefs) behaviors.”[11]

The most revealing evidence that this scheme really “works” comes from those who participated in the Clinton’s Governor’s School. In light of today’s rapid changes, it makes sense to remember their testimonies as recorded in the documentary video titled “The Guiding Hand”:

1. Isolate Students From Traditional Family Values

“For the six weeks ... they are not allowed to go home except for July the Fourth. They are discouraged from calling home.... They can receive mail but they are encouraged to have as little contact with the outside world as possible.” (Shelvie Cole, Brandon’s mother)

“I felt that I needed not to talk about it. I don’t know why. Maybe because we were supposed to stay here and the fact that we couldn’t leave.... No one... who had gone before would talk to me about it.” (Kelli Wood, former student)[7]

The “effectiveness” of such mandatory separation may help explain why (1) educational change agents want to put 3-year-olds in pre-school programs and (2) why “Obama says American kids spend too little time in school.”[12]

2. Reinforce New Liberal, Anti-Christian Values

“We watched movies like Harvey Milk. We learned about gay life—those things that your parents say, ‘This is wrong... You shouldn’t see this type of thing because, hey, that’s just not right...’” (LeAndrew Crawford, former student)

“[The instructors] tear down their authority figure system and... help establish another one.... They convince the students that ‘You are the elite. The reason why you’re not going to be understood when you go home—not by your parents, your friends, your pastor or anybody—is because you have been treated to thought that they can’t handle.’ ...[This] intellectual and cultural elitism gives them the right... to say, ‘We know better than you.’” (Mark Lowery, former director for Governor’s School publicity)

3. Emphasize Feeling-Centered (affective, not cognitive) Teaching:

“Rather than learning what 2 and 2 equals, they would be asked what they feel about 2+2. Right now we have a move going on in our Arkansas schools called restructuring, where they are trying to get away from more objective, substantive learning into this subjective area of feelings.” (Mark Lowery)

“You would think that there would be some academic challenges... getting ready for college... The main textbook that I remember from there is a book called Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and the book is totally Hindu religion defined.” (Steve Roberts, former student)

4. Shape A Personal, All-Inclusive Spirituality:

“A lot of places. . . even Christian camps, you get that stress about ‘What am I doing wrong?’ . . .There it was like, hey, I can talk to God! Me and God are one, the world is one... Jump up and down, you know, just twirl around.”

“It was kind of like that Baha’i idea. How you have Islam, Baha’i, Muslim, Christianity... They’re all different kinds of trees, but underneath, its root system grows together [and] is the same god.” (Steven Allen, student)

5. Instill The Target Beliefs—A ‘New’ Social And Political Agenda:

The next quote fits Bill Clinton’s experience. He was selected as a potential future leader—a Rhodes scholar—worthy of the required indoctrination:

“I think the whole intent of the Governor’s School in taking 350 - 400 students per summer, is to pick out the four, five or six students that could be political leaders and then to mold their minds in this more liberal and humanistic thinking.... [T]o be considered intellectual... you have to be a liberal thinker....” (Mark Lowery, former director)

“They’re bringing a political agenda in the guise of academic excellence.... It was something that was well orchestrated, well organized, it was mind-bending and manipulative.” (Steve Roberts)

“Prominent themes promoted by this school include radical homosexuality, socialism, pacifism and a consistent hostility toward Western civilization and culture, especially [America’s] Biblical foundations.” (Jeoffrey Botkin)

6. Build Allegiance To The New Community:

“You could dress just about any way you want. We had almost naked people. It was real liberal... an awful lot of cursing.” (Mike Oonk, former student)

“The students... say, ‘This is the perfect place. I never want to go home.’ I caught myself saying that several times.” (Mike Oonk)[7]

Indoctrinating students with diverse beliefs, socialist values, utopian dreams, and idealized love leads to deception, disillusionment, corruption and chaos. But that fits the battle plan for global transformation just fine. Today’s change agents need chaos and crisis to justify their oppressive action. Not only does it unravel the old social order, it gives an illusion of newfound freedom—from family values as well moral restrains.[13]

“It would be impossible for me to describe to you just how exciting and unusual this educational adventure is,” said Bill Clinton.[7]

It wasn’t exciting for re-programmed students who returned home. But that problem may soon be resolved. Through “service-learning” and other long-term re-learning projects, today’s students can stay rooted in the new environment—even if they sleep at home.

This is where we are headed, dear friends! During this last year, three students at a top-rated high school in California committed suicide—one of the many consequences of today’s emotional confusion. One evening, as desperate parents met with school officials to seek solutions, a fourth student attempted suicide at the nearest railroad crossing. He was pulled off the track seconds before the train thundered down the track.[14]

Standing firm in this social and spiritual war

The school offered no real solutions. But our God does! Please take these guidelines to heart:

Ø Pray!. For, as Jesus said, “...apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

Ø Prepare yourself.Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole Armor of God....” Eph. 6:10-11

Ø Equip your children to discern evil and resist compromise. “Do not be deceived....” 1 Cor. 15:33

Ø Trust God, not yourself. “O our God... we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chron. 20:12

Ø Inform and warn all who will listen. “I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light...” Acts 26:17-18

Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord...” 1 Cor. 15:57

The Perfect Storm

Hello All,

IT certainly is time to look at something besides the two major political parties. They are too much alike and neither of them look to really be for the American people.

I certainly hope the writer of this article is correct, that the American people will no longer take all that nonsense being sent our way.

The Perfect Storm

by Mary Starrett
Constitution Party Communications Director

10/08/2009

http://constitutionparty.com/news.php?aid=1099

Hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions don’t just happen. It takes a combined set of circumstances and conditions for each incident to occur. Pressure builds, moisture is trapped, temperature changes, plates shift and lava builds. It is only then that an event will be seen, felt, heard and experienced. Sometimes those natural events that have built up over time will result in cataclysmic changes so profound they alter the entire landscape and way of life for those living in the area. An undersea mega thrust earthquake on the day after Christmas, in 2004 resulted in a tsunami that forever changed the lives of those who lived in coastal Indonesia while ending the lives of more than 230,000 others.

I remember watching Mount St Helens blow its top and soon after I was sweeping volcanic ash from my driveway. Things were different after May 18, 1980. The mountain we viewed from our homes had a jagged edge to it now and the top was gone. 29 years later people in the Pacific Northwest can sometimes see smoke rising from this active “super volcano”. Experts agree it’s just a matter of time before another eruption occurs, making the last one pale in comparison.

Not since the War for Independence has this country teetered on such precarious ground; ground that was quaking and trembling with such monumental “what ifs” that it’s very existence weighed in the balance.

Would those who lived in the new country be subjects of a king or would they live as free men and women? They chose liberty and to that end they endured every manner of human deprivation- even loss of life to secure that end.

The perfect storm is building and once again it looks like Americans will not bow their knee as subjects to tyranny. I say this because despite the attempts to upend our Republic, despite the slide toward socialism and the frightening storm clouds that linger above us, sovereign citizens are roiling. Trend forecaster Gerald Celente says we’re witnessing a Second American Revolution and says a third party will send the two controlling parties packing.

Tea parties are all the rage these days and they are not going unnoticed despite the pejoratives the media elite use in dismissing the millions who protest big government policies. There is a growing number of groups forming and mobilizing the discontent Americans feel. A recent poll showed that Americans regard members of Congress as holding the “least favorably respected” job in the country. To that end grassroots efforts are underway to make sure they lose those jobs in 2010. Yes, the American voters are working toward mass layoffs for all but a few incumbents.

At Flip This House 2010 they’re working “to re-instill real values in our national politics. This isn’t about Democrats or Republicans.... it’s about grassroots, tea-party, freedom-loving Americans uniting behind a common goal of turning the current statist political machine on its head.

Simply put, it’s time to Flip This House!”

The non-partisan coalition is committed “Liberty and limited government” and “will stand with anyone and everyone who will stand with us in the great struggle against the ascendancy of the State. We want to rally hundreds of thousands of citizens who are fed up with the statist government and are ready to take bold political actions to Flip This House… beginning in 2010!”

Indeed, bold, political action will be required of all who genuinely desire relief from the scourge of D.C.

Another example of the tempest brewing among our countrymen can be seen in another endeavor to “evict...career politicians.” GOOH (pronounced “GO”) reaches out to those who are “weary of the death grip the two parties have on our government, and are ready to return control of our government to the people.”

No wonder. A recent poll showed only 18% of Republicans believed their party’s representatives did a good job of representing their base. 74% said congress was out of touch with them.

Another poll showed only a third of Republicans in Arizona believe Senator John McCain has done a good job of representing Republican ideals. 61% say he is out of touch with his base. Considering the GOP’s 2008 presidential pick’s dismal track record on immigration, gun control, government spending and a host of other issues, it’s no wonder he’s being called “out of touch.”

What “bold political action” are you willing to take to live free?

Communism’s Forgotten Victims

Communism’s Forgotten Victims

by Rebecca Hagelin

Three summers ago I witnessed the dancing eyes and exuberant smiles of fellow humans who were tasting freedom for the very first time. I was on a Florida barrier island when some three dozen very lucky Cubans escaped their captors, beat the odds in dangerous seas, and finally stepped into freedom on America’s shore.

It seemed that they came from another time – almost like characters from an old black-and-white movie about war and oppression. As I processed what I was witnessing, I began to realize that they were flesh-and-blood representatives of millions like them who have suffered in the clutches of communist regimes. From the Soviet Gulags, to China’s Tiananmen Square, to North Korea, to the tiny island of Cuba and other places in-between, 100 million men, women and children around the world have been victimized by communist thugs. Just 90 miles from our own border a third generation of Cuban people remains captive to the same brutal regime that terrorized their grandparents.

Americans are oblivious to the tragic reality that people in our own backyard and around the world still suffer and die under brutal communist oppression. The news media is all but silent about the bloody history while propagandists like Michael Moore get rich from extolling a radical socialist agenda and portraying the oppressive communist systems as benevolent.

Obama: Beyond the Idea of an Icon

Obama: Beyond the Idea of an Icon

Written by Selwyn Duke

There has long been a certain objection to the divine command that we should worship God. It is simply: Why does God need you to worship Him? It is, really, an eminently fair question, and it has an eminently logical answer: God doesn’t need you to worship Him. You need to worship Him.

Worshipping God has, among other things, the very great by-product of reminding us who God is and, by extension, who He is not: us. This may seem obvious, but history has shown that this simple fact more often than not eludes man. For instance, Egyptian pharaohs were considered very important gods in their culture; in 44 B.C., Julius Caesar erected a statue of himself with the inscription, “The unvanquished god”; and in the mid 2200s B.C., King Narim-Sin of the Akkadian Empire was known as “the god of Agade.”

But today, in the United States, most feel very much removed from such things. Why, our first president, George Washington, not only wouldn’t deify himself, he wouldn’t even accept an offer of kingship. Yet, also today, we see something very different. We see a man being referred to as “the messiah” and “the One,” a man around whom a seemingly unprecedented cult of personality has arisen. That man is, of course, Barack Obama.

Dying For Islam

Hello All,

Coach Daubenmire makes his usual good point. I have wondered the same. Who are we fighting? What in the world is the war on terror anyhow?

I too have no problem with a good fight. We do what we must. But I would much rather say what we are doing. We fight against the Muslims who would kill us. I’m personally not worried about who is offended because of what we say. I like the idea that my family and I, and this great nation come out of all this in one stable piece.

I know that as a “conservative” I am supposed to be for the war. Somewhere along the road to freedom war became an expression of Christian values.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am not a peacenik, nor opposed to military action whenever it is Biblically justified. But I have to tell you, I have never been a supporter of the war to “spread democracy.” I believe that because of the emotion associated with the attacks of 911, we entered into a “war” without a clearly identified opponent, with a foggy vision of what it would look like, and without a clear understanding of the mission.

Terrorism cannot be an opponent. Terrorism is a technique. Fighting a “war on terror” is far too indiscriminate and nebulous to be effectively targeted.

Why “Hate Crime” Laws Would Ban Biblical Christianity (Updated)

This is an update of a posting I did a bit back. Some of the sneaker folks in congress tacked on the so-called “hate crimes” bill to a military spending bill to get this passed. Bad stuff.

On the good side. I exchanged emails with Berit Kjos concerning her posts, and that I like what she writes. She has given me permission to post all of her material as is, and including on my Veritas Vos Liberabit blog. So here is another I will be able to post in full and we will get more of her stuff. I have a few more writers I am going to contact for the same reason.

Why “Hate Crime” Laws Would Ban Biblical Christianity

Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H. R. 1913)

http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/007/hate-crimes.htm

October 8, 2009: Hate Crimes Language Prompts Republicans To Vote Against Defense Bill: “Inclusion of an expansion of federal hate crimes legislation in a defense authorization bill prompted nearly all House Republicans to vote against the measure. ...

“‘I cannot vote for the Defense authorization bill with this hate crimes legislation attached to it,’ Boehner said. ‘This is a radical social policy that is being put on the defense authorization bill... because they probably can’t pass it on its own.’....It is simply inappropriate to use a defense bill as a vehicle for divisive, liberal social policies, wholly unrelated to our country’s national security.... Democrats … are piling liberal social priorities onto the backs of our soldiers.’ ...

“Pence also said he viewed the hate crimes provisions as an assault on freedom of speech.... ‘I disdain discrimination.... But these hate crimes provisions … are broad enough to encompass legitimate beliefs, and protecting the rights of freedom of speech and religion must be first and foremost and paramount on the floor of this chamber.’

“Despite nearly uniform Republican opposition, the Defense bill passed 234 to 188.”[1]

Obama Declares War on Free Speech: “The Obama Administration has now actually co-sponsored an anti-free speech resolution at the United Nations. Approved by the U.N. Human Rights Council last Friday, the resolution, cosponsored by the U.S. and Egypt, calls on states to condemn and criminalize ‘any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence.’...

“‘Incitement’ and ‘hatred’ are in the eye of the beholder—or more precisely, in the eye of those who make such determinations. The powerful can decide to silence the powerless by classifying their views as ‘hate speech.’

“The resolution also condemns ‘negative stereotyping of religions...,’ which is of course an oblique reference to accurate reporting about the jihad doctrine and Islamic supremacism....

“But we still have the First Amendment, right? ...’If the U.S. backs a resolution that urges the suppression of some speech,’ he explains, ‘presumably we are taking the view that all countries—including the U.S.—should adhere to this resolution.”

“...the real danger of ‘hate crime’ laws is that they criminalize thoughts and beliefs.’”[2] Prescription for tyranny

“Practitioners of homosexual, cross-dressing, transvestism, and transsexualism become federally-protected minority groups....”[3] Congress denying equal protection

“The notion of the ‘hate crime’ has now been established in English law. Thanks to the mullahs, anyone daring to subject the Muslim faith to the same kind of harsh analysis brought to bear on Christianity or Judaism could be convicted as a ‘hate criminal.’”[4] The Menace of the Lobby

“How did America go from Pilgrims seeking freedom to express their Judeo-Christian beliefs to today’s discrimination against those very beliefs in the name of tolerance?”[5]The faith that gave birth to tolerance is no longer tolerated!

This legislation may be the most ominous attack on “free speech” and Christianity since the founding of our nation. Yet, the silence of the mainstream media is disturbing. It suggests that many of our most powerful leaders want these bills passed behind closed doors, freed from any public accountability. Even so, the public is awakening to the facts.

On April 25, 2007, a House of Representatives committee approved a measure to add homosexuality to the list of groups “protected” by hate crimes laws. The Senate has prepared a twin bill, S. 1105. Except for the addition of the name Matthew Shepard, its title is the same.”[6] House panel OKs hate crimes bill

Matthew Shepard? Few Americans could miss the shocking details of this young homosexual’s horrible death in 1998. The media published that story 3007 times -- 45 times in the New York Times alone. It made Matthew a martyr for the cause of gay rights, hate-crimes legislation, and anti-Christian sentiment.”[7]

Did you read about Jesse Dirkhising’s torture and murder at the hands of two homosexual lovers eleven months later? Probably not. The thirteen-year-old boy was drugged, strapped down, sodomized, tortured, and killed by two adults living in an apartment that ‘reeked of excrement and was littered with drug paraphernalia.’[7] Like Matthew’s murder, it was a horrible crime—almost unfit to print. But that’s not why most newspapers across the country refused to tell the story. The real reason? It didn’t fit their agenda! It wasn’t politically correct!

Nor is the Bible. Its unchanging standards can’t be adapted to the new global guidelines for holistic spirituality and politically correct tolerance. So when eleven Christians shared the gospel as well as warning about homosexuality during Philadelphia’s 2004 homosexual ‘OutFest’, they were promptly arrested and temporarily “charged under [Pennsylvania’s] hate crimes legislation.”[8]

Christians aren’t the only ones vulnerable. On April 11, a Maine Middle School student did something really foolish on a dare: He put some ham—considered “unclean” by Muslims—on a cafeteria table occupied by Muslim students. As punishment, the school suspended him. School principal, Maureen Lachapelle, sent a report of this incident to the Attorney General’s office and to the County District Attorney “because the ham incident was perceived as a hate/bias crime.”[9]

A crime? Does this line up with the fast-track Hate Crimes Bill in Congress? And if so, why?

A quick review of HR 1592 might, at first, suggest a negative answer. Section 7(2), like the corresponding Senate Bill, defines “Hate crime acts” as:

“(A) In general.—Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, in any circumstance described in subparagraph (B), willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, or an explosive or incendiary device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability of any person—”

But, you might argue, the boy neither caused nor intended “bodily injury.”

True! But consider another key word, one that’s part of the title in both bills. That all-important word is “prevention!” We’re looking at the “Hate Crimes Prevention Act,” not simply a law against “hate crimes.” And the concept of prevention (or pre-emption) is open-ended. Its wide range of interpretations could be used in almost any situation to silence offending voices and to intimidate critics of useful “protected” groups such as homosexuals and Muslims—long before any signs of actual violence.

For example, a Canadian pastor was concerned about the overt promotion of Islam at a local high school. It not only distributed copies of the Quran, it also offered Muslim students a room for prayer during school hours. Of course, Christian and Jewish students had no such “freedom.” But when Pastor Mark Harding began handing out leaflets protesting this strange favoritism, he was charged with having “willfully promoted hatred.” Having violated a new Canadian hate-crimes law, he was sentenced to 340 hours of “community service” at the Islamic Society of North America.

Pastor Harding claimed to be motivated by love for Muslim students, not hate. According to worldnetdaily.com, he expressed that love in a recorded phone call. Yet his own phone was swamped with more than three thousand real hate calls, including many death threats. When his trial began, the police protected him from the crowds of Muslims chanting “Infidels, you will burn in hell.”[10]

What is going on? Who is behind this unequal and borderless “protection” system?

The UN “Culture Of Prevention”

The UN has established a massive, worldwide, inter-agency program of “prevention.” Through the coordinated efforts of UNESCO, The World Health Organization, The World Bank and countless other UN agencies, its agenda is transforming not only beliefs and values everywhere, but also schools, churches, communities and nations. Words like “war” and “genocide” have been used for more than fifty years to persuade the world to participate in “peace-building” ventures that would create a climate of prevention everywhere. This cultural atmosphere is defined by UN declarations such as UNESCO’s Declaration on Tolerance and Declaration of Principles on Religion in a Culture of Peace.[11]

The UN policy of prevention requires “lifelong learning,” re-learning, group-learning and service-learning. Continual progress must be measured through unceasing assessments that monitor compliance with new global standards for human resource development. What counts is progress toward the envisioned solidarity—a global community where no one takes a stand contrary to UN ideology—and where everyone is willing to compromise their beliefs, seek common ground, and flow with the group consensus.[12]

While Biblical Christianity hinders such universal solidarity, the war against “hate” supports it. After all, it provides the incentive needed to intimidate and persuade the masses that they must change and conform.

In 1999, the United Nations published a pamphlet by Secretary-General Kofi Annan titled, “Facing the Humanitarian Challenge: Towards a Culture of Prevention.” In it, Mr. Annan states:

“...the common thread running through almost all conflict prevention policies is the need to pursue what we in the United Nations refer to as good governance. In practice, good governance involves promoting the rule of law, tolerance of minority and opposition groups.... Above all, good governance means respect for human rights... [See Whose Rights?]

“Long-term prevention strategies, in addressing the root causes of conflict, seek to prevent destructive conflicts from arising in the first place. They embrace the same holistic approach to prevention that characterizes post-conflict peace-building....”[13]

Do you wonder what he means by a holistic approach? It has to do with the vision of unity, wholism, solidarity, interconnectedness, or—as the new global management puts it—a systems approach based on “General Systems Theory.” It tolerates no Christian “separatist” views. As Al Gore said at a 1992 Communitarian Conference, “Seeing ourselves as separate is the central problem in our political thinking.”[14]

But “peace-building” implies more specific action than simply a holistic approach. An UNESCO publication I picked up in Istanbul during the 1996 UN Conference on Human Settlements (See Habitat II) clarifies a broader issue. Ponder the following excerpts from Our Creative Diversity: Report on the World Commission on Culture and Development. The first paragraph was written by former UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar:

“An ounce of prevention is better than a ton of punishment.... Imagination, innovation, vision and creativity are required.... It means an open mind, and open heart and a readiness to seek fresh definitions, reconcile old opposites, and help draw new mental maps.”

Universalism is the fundamental principle of a global ethics.”

“Religion... has affected and sometimes poisoned the relations between majorities and minorities.... Extreme doctrinaire views [Biblical Christianity?] look to an imagined past, seen as both simpler and more stable, thus preparing the ground not only for a variety of overtly violent acts but also for the intimidation of individuals and indeed entire communities in matters of thought, behavior and belief, coercing them into accepting a single ‘orthodox’ point of view.... The challenge today, as in the past is to... distinguish between the beliefs and activities of the peaceful majority... and a minority of extremists....”[15]

“Prevention” As A Ploy To Silence Christians

Some of the same warnings were sounded by the respective founding directors of both UNESCO (Julian Huxley) and the World Health Organization (Dr. Brock Chisholm). Both were determined to wipe out the “poisonous certainties” of Biblical Christianity in their quest for UN solidarity. Notice Dr. Chisholm’s emphasis on prevention back in 1946:

“We must... find and take sure steps to prevent wars in the future.... The re-interpretation and eventually eradication of the concept of right and wrong which has been the basis of child training... these are the belated objectives of practically all effective psychotherapy.... The pretense is made [by uncompromising Christians who cling to old standards] that to do away with right and wrong would produce uncivilized people, immorality, lawlessness and social chaos....

“When [infectious diseases] were attacked at the preventative level, some martyrs had to be sacrificed to the cause of humanity, because reactionary forces fought back.... The problem is no longer the germ of diphtheria, but rather the attitudes of parents who are incapable of accepting and using proven knowledge for the protection of their children. Surely the training of children in home and schools should be of at least as great public concern as their vaccination.... [See Homosexuals brainwashing our children in elementary schools]

“For the very survival of large parts of the human race, world understanding, tolerance, and forbearance have become absolutely essential.... If it cannot be done gently, it may have to be done roughly or even violently.”[16]

Today, more than half a century later, the world is rapidly conforming to this UN agenda touted by Chisholm and Huxley in the 1940s. The global network of “lifelong learning” aims to prevent anything that would hinder “positive” collective thinking. Few notice how effectively its tentacles now reach into community [mental] health programs in over 130 nations around the world.[17]

During his 1997 White House Conference on Hate-Crimes, former President Clinton suggested that “The Justice Department will make its own hate crimes training curriculum available. A lot of hate crimes still go unreported.... If a crime is unreported, that gives people an excuse to ignore it.”[18] Then he announced a Justice Department website which invites children to tell “trusted adults” about “hateful” or exclusive attitudes they see in their relatives at home or in friends in school.

Hard to believe? It all makes sense when you consider the history of the UN. Ponder the words of Federico Mayor, former Director-General of UNESCO:

“We have witnessed... the growth of fundamentalism and of religious and ethnic intolerance. The roots of exclusion and hatred have shown themselves even deeper and more tenacious than we had feared... Peace... requires, in the words of the Constitution, ‘the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind’.”[19]

Today’s well-funded champions for boundless sexual “freedom” are fighting an all-out war against those who resist. Their efforts are pushing America toward inconceivable lawlessness, bondage (to their own sensuality), and social chaos, which will surely be countered by more intensified surveillance and control. (See Total transformation)

They are no respecter of persons. Even Marine General Peter Pace - war hero and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - is under “rapid fire assault from his extreme left-flank.” His “crime”? When interviewed by the Chicago Tribune, he said that “homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral.”

J. Matt Barber describes the battle in his article Pro-’Gay’ Bullies Pick Up the Pace:

“Not surprisingly, many of those non-judgmental, freedom-loving moral-relativists on the left are up-in-arms, demanding that Pace apologize and offer a full retraction or be fired.... Their carefully crafted propaganda is peppered with provocative and sensational code-words like “hate,” “violence,” “bigot,” “homophobia” — and on and on, ad infinitum. They are militant, organized, extremely powerful and well funded. Through clever semantics and shrewd political subterfuge they cynically play to honorable notions of freedom and fair-play in order to push a deceptive and activist agenda.

“They are the radical homosexual lobby.... Theirs is a carefully orchestrated and skillfully executed scheme not only to undermine, but to abolish from public discourse, any words — or even thoughts — which might stem from the traditional Judeo-Christian worldview upon which our great nation was founded.

“Their agenda: To mandate that only a secular-humanist worldview may be properly entertained or referenced. That worldview is one in which morality is entirely relative, and any reference to traditional notions of natural human sexuality, the natural family, or any fixed lines of demarcation between right and wrong are “hateful,” “discriminatory,” and to be strictly forbidden by force of law.”[20]

God Reigns In The Midst Of The Battle

America’s dangerous drift brings sobering consequences. Long ago, God warned us that when people mock His ways, He will “give them over” to their own futile resources. Rejecting His guidelines, they lose His protection and are driven by the passions of their own capricious nature. Notice the descent into depravity and social chaos:

“...the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth....“Professing to be wise, they became fools.... “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves....“God gave them up to vile passions.... committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind.... being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness. They are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful....” Romans 1:18-32

The good news is that those who do turn to the Light in the midst of the spreading darkness will find peace and strength in Christ. “My peace I give to you,” said Jesus, “not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27-28
